Are you a man over 65?

Older Men’s Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing: A study exploring help seeking and use of community support groups.

Are you a man 65 years and over?

Do you attend a support group for your mental health and wellbeing?

How do you look after your mental health?

What advice could you give to other men experiencing similar difficulties?

My name is Dr Alex Vickery, I’m a researcher at the University of Bristol and I’d like to hear your experiences of community mental health support.

I am looking to interview men (65+) who:

  • Currently experiencing or previously have experienced mental health difficulties (including those who self-identify as having experienced distress, not limited to a clinical diagnosis).
  • Currently attending or previously had attended a community support group service aimed at improving mental health.

If you are interested in taking part in a one-off interview, please contact me. I can travel to you, or if you would prefer, I can telephone or video call you.

A £20 high-street store voucher will be offered to say thanks for taking part.

Through this project I want to better understand older men’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, specifically the use of community support groups and other support pathways.

Please contact Alex (she/her) for more information:
